Dazzle builds a personal AI from your camera roll

Marissa Mayer’s Dazzle is launching a personal AI assistant that reads a user’s camera roll after raising an $8 million seed round in December, TechCrunch reports. Instead of starting with email and calendars, Dazzle uses photos to infer trips, hobbies, and family context, then turns that context into recommendations or tasks. The product’s privacy pitch is narrower than a general inbox agent, but builders should treat the camera roll as a high-density permission boundary—not harmless metadata—and test what the assistant retains before granting access. The photo-context bet follows the archive’s wider audit of consumer AI inputs.
