Peak XV raises Surge seed ceiling to $5M
Peak XV raised Surge’s per-company seed ceiling from $3 million to $5 million for its 18-startup Surge 12 cohort, investing more than $50 million across the batch, according to TechCrunch’s cohort report. The cohort collectively raised over $90 million, while only five companies focus on India and 13 target global markets; Peak XV says the Series A bar has risen and capital-intensive startups need larger seed rounds. Founders should treat $5 million as a ceiling, not a market-clearing price, and compare any offer against Crusoe’s delivery-backed financing analysis: bigger seed checks buy runway, not product-market fit.
