Claude for Government reaches GA with $0 seat fees

Anthropic made Claude for Government generally available to federal and state agencies with $0 seat fees: agencies buy usage in fixed increments under a hard not-to-exceed cap. Its general-availability announcement says the FedRAMP High environment includes department-level spending controls, per-user and per-model tracking, audit logs, and early access for Claude Code CLI and Claude for Microsoft 365. Public-sector operators should treat the $0 seat line as a billing shape—not a free deployment—and price usage, authorization, local review, and exit requirements against the archive’s metered government procurement analysis.
