HPE lands $1.2B Vultr AI-rack order
HPE says Vultr placed a $1.2 billion order for AMD Helios AI Rack systems, the first commercial order for HPE’s Helios platform, according to Converge Digest’s report on the announcement. The open, Ethernet-based rack architecture is designed for AI training and inference, and the report says each rack combines 72 AMD Instinct MI455X GPUs with direct liquid cooling. Operators should read the deal as early validation of a non-Nvidia rack-scale path, but wait for rack count and delivery timing before turning the headline into available capacity; the data-center capex forecast remains a demand plan, not a shipment.
