Novele raises $17M for building energy AI
Applied-AI energy company Novele raised an oversubscribed $17 million Series A to expand its BoardOS software and EnergyBoard storage system nationally, after reporting more than 2,000 buildings across a 2.6-billion-square-foot pipeline. Commercial Observer’s report on the round says the system uses weather, occupancy and other conditions to optimize energy consumption, while Novele will spend the capital on engineering, deployment and commercial teams. For operators, the archive’s account of AI data-center power pressure is the useful frame: building-energy AI is moving from dashboard software toward hardware-backed load control, but a pipeline is not installed capacity.
