TeleOCR claims 96.87 on document parsing

China Telecom’s Xingchen AGI Lab open-sourced TeleOCR, a roughly 1.2B-parameter parser that the release says scored 96.87/100 on OmniDocBench v1.6, led two other benchmarks, and won the ICDAR 2026 Sci-ImageMiner Challenge. Its open implementation and evaluation notes cover eight parsing tasks; like MLPerf’s RAG test, the score is a starting point, so teams should test photographed contracts, tables, formulas, and review cost before treating it as a production extractor.
