Cloudflare puts AI Search on a November billing clock

Cloudflare made AI Search generally available on October 1, adding native image embeddings, OCR for PDFs and support for files up to 10 MiB; its GA announcement says billing begins November 1, 2026, with a free monthly allotment of 5 million ingestion tokens, 10 GB of storage and 1,000 semantic plus 1,000 full-text queries. After those allowances, semantic queries cost $0.75 per 1,000 and full-text queries $0.10 per 1,000. Builders with image-heavy or scanned-document corpora can test it now, but should model ingestion, storage and query volumes before treating the free tier as a permanent cost baseline; the archive’s AI-search referral analysis is the relevant demand-side constraint.
