DoorDash puts agents in Apple Messages

DoorDash opened a U.S. iOS waitlist for a text-to-order agent in Apple Messages that searches local spots, builds a cart and handles checkout, while its new DashBuddy assistant is already used by more than 200,000 Dashers and resolves about 95% of onboarding questions, according to the company’s Dash Forward announcement. The figures are internal and the ordering tool is still a beta, so teams building action-taking assistants should copy the bounded rollout and confirmation step—not assume text access solves payment or price accuracy; the archive’s personal-agent permission analysis shows why trust boundaries remain the product.
