SoftBank completes $3.1B DigitalBridge deal
SoftBank completed its approximately $3.1 billion acquisition of DigitalBridge, a digital-infrastructure investor spanning data centers, towers, fiber and edge infrastructure. SoftBank’s completion notice says DigitalBridge is now a controlled subsidiary but will remain separately managed under Marc Ganzi; the buyer gets an infrastructure investment platform, not instant GPU capacity. The move matters because the archive’s megawatt-cost analysis shows how AI buildouts are increasingly power-and-capital businesses: operators should watch which assets SoftBank funds next, rather than count the acquisition as delivered compute.
