Databricks puts ai_decide in beta

Databricks put ai_decide into beta as a governed AI Function that returns structured choices, scores and probabilities instead of generated prose, with SQL and REST access, according to Databricks’ announcement. The function requires Databricks Runtime 15.4 LTS or newer, with 18.2 recommended, giving teams a concrete deployment floor for routing prompts, triaging documents and evaluating agent outputs. That is a different price/performance bet from the low-cost typed decision API tracked in the archive: move the decision into governed data only if the runtime and region constraints fit.
