DOJ alleges $300M AI-server smuggling route

The Justice Department’s October 1 indictment announcement alleges a California technology-company owner helped route more than $300 million of GPU servers to China through Malaysia and Singapore. The filing cites one order for 27 servers worth about $7.6 million; the allegations remain unproven, and this is a new entry in the archive’s account of AI-server diversion under export controls. Compute buyers should verify end users and reseller routes through to destination, without treating one indictment as a measure of how common diversion is.
