UMI opens Bittensor subnet for motion AI

Universal Motion Intelligence launched /sign on Bittensor Subnet 78, with a TestFlight beta scheduled for October 15 and an App Store launch planned for November 15. Its launch announcement says the product will translate between signed and spoken communication using a standard camera, while independent teams compete on the underlying models. The approach extends the data-and-compute problem in Figure’s physical-AI deal, but this release is an early-access schedule, not a deployment result. Builders evaluating accessibility use should test sign-language accuracy, latency, consent, and human escalation before relying on it in a regulated workflow.
