Google Maps adds three agentic booking paths
Google Maps added 3 agentic transaction paths—food orders, hotel bookings, and event tickets—to Ask Maps for US users. TechCrunch’s launch report says the assistant can assemble a restaurant cart through Square, Toast, or Uber Eats, while hotels and tickets hand users to partner checkout; it also says Personal Intelligence is off by default and can draw on Gmail and Calendar. Merchants preparing catalogs for AI discovery and agentic commerce should note the boundary: Maps now compresses discovery into transaction intent, but third parties still own payment and fulfillment.
