Synthefy raises $6.5M for structured-data models
Synthefy launched Nori alongside a $6.5 million seed round, claiming the Apache 2.0 model ranks first across 130 public regression benchmarks; its 30-million-parameter version is positioned as a roughly 2%-sized rival to Google’s 1.6-billion-parameter TabFM. The company’s announcement says Nori has already passed 600,000 downloads and 5,000 Python installations. Teams forecasting demand, prices, fraud, or infrastructure failures should treat this as a promising low-compute benchmark to reproduce—not a reason to replace a validated task-specific model—extending the archive’s argument that model choice is an operating-cost decision.
