Uni-LaDiR reports a 7.3% reasoning gain
Uni-LaDiR, a new arXiv framework for multimodal reasoning, reports relative gains of 7.3% on visual-reasoning tasks and 6.1% on robot-manipulation tasks across 11 VLM benchmarks and two vision-language-action suites. It diffuses blocks of shared latent thought tokens instead of concatenating modality-specific traces, and generates them without teacher observations at inference. That is a research signal, not a deployment score: reproduce its protocol against your own visual history before swapping a reasoning stack, especially where robot simulation’s sim-to-real ceiling remains the bottleneck.
