SK pushes Ulsan AI data center toward 900 MW
SK Group’s Ulsan AI data center has expanded to nearly 900 megawatts, up from a 100-megawatt launch plan, according to Yonhap’s report from Ulsan Forum 2026. The AWS-linked project is estimated at 7 trillion won ($5.2 billion) and targeted for operation in the second half of 2027; SK Telecom’s infrastructure plan puts the broader Korean buildout at 15 gigawatts, with 5 gigawatts staged from 2029. Builders should file this as a capacity-and-tenant bet, not live supply: AI’s grid-cost exposure is decided by power, contracts, and commissioning—not announced megawatts.
